Melissa graduated from the CÉGEP du Vieux Montréeal in 2010, and then began her career working in the department of general and specialized surgery (abdominal, vascular, ENT). In 2014, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Critical Care from the University of Sherbrooke. She later worked in various departments including cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and the emergency department of the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. She has had extensive role training and has been working in routine care and home care with Inuit and Cree clients since 2016 in different villages.
