Happy 6th birthday, Dialogue! A look at how far we’ve come.

Dear Dialogue,

It’s time to celebrate your anniversary! You were born in Montreal, in May 2016. You’re set for the slightly-delayed but much-awaited birthday bash. Not on Zoom! This time, it’s finally in person! 

Your co-founders Cherif, Anna and I, as well as your entire team, could not be more proud of your accomplishments. I’d love to continue the tradition Anna started on your first anniversary in 2017 and continued in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, lovingly comparing you to a newborn, a toddler, then a child prodigy with amazing potential. Look at how far you’ve come.

Six years in, you are a strong, mature organization. A market leader. You’re serving millions of members and tens of thousands of organizations, including some of the largest and most reputable ones. You’re complementing healthcare systems across the country. And as a public company, you get to proudly show TSX:CARE as a sign of trust from investors.

This year’s success was built on the achievements of previous years. This was another year of growth and scale as you continued to earn the trust of your partners, clients, and members. Virtual Primary Care, the original program we started back in 2016, has continued to grow. We cheered when you performed your 1 millionth consult. Other programs such as Mental Health+ and Employee Assistance Program have also compounded the growth, helping people improve their health and well-being in more ways than one.

Your team made a strategic choice. We wanted to transform you into a true Integrated Health Platform (IHP), a trusted provider of a growing array of health and wellness services, all tightly connected, and deliver programs to organizations that deeply care about their members and their families. The results are clear: the IHP is working. More and more people are benefiting from the compounding effect of several programs, and the feedback from members continues to inspire us to do even more!

The 6th year was the year you made two acquisitions, for a total of 6 so far. Earlier in the year, you welcomed an Australian organization, eHub Health, which brought the world's most clinically-researched iCBT program. Soon after, our members started benefiting from the integrated experience of our partners Sun Life and Canada Life who have provided iCBT to their members.

But you didn't stop there. A couple of months ago, we welcomed a UK-based wellness provider, Tictrac. Since the start of the acquisition process, you were amazed by how much Tictrac's mission, team, culture, customers, technology, and product were so complementary to your own. Tictrac has developed a great wellness program specifically tailored for organizations. Your growing team is now working to make Wellness an integral part of the range of programs available to our members.

Behind all of these accomplishments is a lot of hard work. Your team, spread across three continents, deserves tremendous recognition and gratitude. Their deep care, their Shackletonian perseverance, their burning desire to make an impact, and their positive energy make you who you are. People at Dialogue do the best work of their lives.

I'm as excited as ever at your potential and can't wait for Year 7 – and many more to come.
